Lahnsteiner Brauerei in Lahnstein

We were at the Lahnsteiner Brewery as part of a beer tasting. The beginning of the "event" was quite bumpy. No proper greeting, a confused summary of the history of the founding family and then taking a seat in an old kitchen on the first floor. The explanations for the beers were also read. We also had to literally fight for the drinks, the host was very reluctant to serve. Seven of us always had to share a bottle to try. There was no culinary accompaniment to the beer, no bread or the like. Later, the mood with the executor, who annoyed us repeatedly stressed that he wanted to go home early, at least got a little better. We didn't see anything from the brewery. We would not recommend the beer tasting even considering the price. But the beer was delicious.

So... For several years now, we have had (several) Lahnsteiner Historienturm 30L on the compensated tap at our private friends' meetings because the price-performance ratio is simply great. The beer tastes good and is easy to drink. I would have to give at least 40 positive Festbacks here ... So I was delighted to see the Lahnsteiner stand at the "First Cologne Craft Beer Festival" today. I got all of your beers in bottles and of course drank one spiked. Great fun. Your people are really all super nice and you can tell that you are a "family brewery". I mean that as positive as possible. It is a shame that you have so few promotional items that are "permanent", great that I was able to get a notice, the upper half is framed and hung in the cold frame. As a German speaker, I think the name of your IPA is really good - but I think you could be a little braver when it comes to hops, that's what you expect from an IPA. Otherwise it still tastes really good. I think sooner or later I (we - pub sports club "Alle Neune") will have to go to see you in Lahnstein. I have to see that. If you do a picture search on Google with the subject "Lahnsteiner Historienturm untappd", almost all private hits are from our "two living rooms", so you have already seen where we are here ... Many varieties of beer, and brewery tours are also offered, parking right in front of the building and a taxizentrale is also around the corner 😋

I am happy to come specially from the Eifel to get the delicious Zwickelbier. A compliment to the "boss" and everyone, always friendly, staff.

There is still real "craft" with passion and competence 😆

Excellent beer, also the "regular" lager. The weizen is top notch. Nice selection of craft beers. At 3 euros on the pricey side.

The brewery smells absolutely, of vomit, of all kinds. Possibly install new filters. The smell is not human. The poor students at the BBS.

Delicious beers from a friendly brewery, far from the typical industrial breweries. First class tours. You have to have participated.
